Conversations with the people building AI
AI is changing how we learn, create, communicate, discover information, and solve problems. The AI Literacy Project brings students together with the people shaping that change.
Meet the people building what's next.
Conversations with founders, researchers, engineers, product leaders, and investors working at the frontier of AI.

The premise
There's power in understanding.
Artificial intelligence is advancing at an extraordinary pace. Every week brings new breakthroughs, new companies, and new ideas. For students growing up alongside this technology, that can feel exciting and uncertain at the same time.
We started the AI Literacy Project because we wanted to better understand what was actually happening behind all of that change. How does AI work? Where is it headed? What can it do, where does it still fall short, and what could it mean for our future?
We believe curiosity is the foundation for understanding, and understanding creates the confidence to be ready for what comes next. One of the best ways to understand the future being built is to hear directly from the people building it.
Rather than relying only on headlines or social media, we want to learn firsthand from the founders, researchers, engineers, product leaders, and investors shaping AI.
What we're curious about
What's happening inside the models and products we use every day?
How can we experiment with AI, learn from it, and use it to become more capable?
Where does the technology still fall short, and which problems are harder than they appear?
What questions around trust, safety, creativity, jobs, and human judgment matter as AI becomes more capable?
What are the people creating AI working toward, what are they learning, and what do they believe matters?
What are the people closest to AI seeing that the rest of us aren't seeing yet?
The goal
To replace fear of the unknown with curiosity about what's possible.
AI is transforming the world we are growing up in. We want to feel ready to engage with that future, not because we have all the answers, but because we understand enough to ask better questions, form our own opinions, and stay curious as the technology evolves.

To be announced
The project
Started by a student who'd rather ask the questions than pretend to have the answers.
For Students
A place to be curious about AI — no coding or expertise required. Hear from the people building the technology, ask questions, and form your own point of view.
For Speakers
An invitation to founders, researchers, engineers, and investors at the frontier of AI to share what they're building — and what they think the next generation should understand about what's coming.
Founders

Founder · Junior at UHS, San Francisco
I'm Rhys Green, a junior at UHS in San Francisco. I've gotten really interested in AI mostly by playing around with it, trying different tools, building things, and seeing what they can do. The more I experiment, the more questions I have.
Living in San Francisco, there are people all around me building things that feel completely new. It's hard not to get excited about what's happening and want to be part of it. I started the AI Literacy Project because I wanted a chance to meet some of the people doing that work, ask them questions, and understand more about what they're building and where they think AI is going.
I definitely don't have the answers. That's kind of the point. I'm curious and want to learn.

Co-Founder · Junior at UHS, San Francisco
I'm TJ Walsh, a junior at UHS in San Francisco. I got into AI by building with it: research tools, automations, small apps, and mostly things I wanted to exist and realized I could make myself. What I keep noticing is the growing gap between the people building AI and everyone else trying to understand it.
That matters especially for people our age, who will live with these changes the longest. I'm helping with the AI Literacy Project to close that gap by bringing great builders in front of students and asking the questions we actually have.
I definitely don't understand it all. Things are moving too fast for anyone to sit still, so I'm here to learn alongside everyone else.
